Olivia Wilde and the cast of Don’t Worry Darling are currently at Venice Film Festival for the movie’s premiere—and Olivia was just asked about the alleged drama between herself and Florence Pugh. Who, FYI, skipped doing press for the film because her flight arrived too late.

Per Variety, Olivia was asked to “clear the air” about the alleged drama with Florence and said this:

“Florence is a force. We are so grateful she’s able to make it tonight [for the red carpet] despite being in production on Dune. I know, as a director, how disruptive it is to lose an actor even for a day, so I’m very grateful to her and to [Dune director Denis Villeneuve] for helping us. And we’ll get to celebrate her work tonight. I can’t say how honored I am to have her as our lead. She’s amazing. As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, the internet feeds itself. I don’t feel the need to contribute; I think it’s sufficiently well-nourished.”

While there has been speculation of tension between Florence and Olivia for weeks, things reached a peak after Olivia’s recent interview with Variety claiming she fired Shia LaBeouf from the film. Shia provided Variety with a message he sent to Olivia after the interview, saying, “You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors and I couldn’t find time to rehearse.” On top of that, he gave the outlet a (since-leaked) video of Olivia asking him to stay on the movie, where she says, “I feel like I’m not ready to give up on this yet, and I, too, am heartbroken and I want to figure this out. You know, I think this might be a bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo, and I want to know if you’re open to giving this a shot with me, with us.”

A source then told Us Weekly that “Florence and Olivia have had several disagreements personally and professionally and that’s why Florence isn’t doing any press for the movie,” while The Wrap reported that Florence would be limiting her DWD press in general. It’s been a lot!
