Olivia Rodrigo Went Full Y2K at the 2022 Met Gala

Y2K queen Olivia Rodrigo just showed up at the 2022 Met Gala wearing the most beautiful purple dress, looking like how the rest of us thought we looked at high school prom—except, you know, ten thousand times cooler.

I mean…if you told me Olivia invented the color purple, I’d believe you! The dress is a shimmery marvel with a scooped neckline and off-the-shoulder straps that extend into a pair of elegant gloves. Not one to shy away from accessorizing, the singer topped off her look with a simple necklace and the most dazzling earrings. And! The! Hair! Again, our prom look could neverrrrr.

This is Olivia’s second Met Gala and she nailed the “Gilded Glamour” theme. Last year, Olivia made her Met Gala debut in a bodysuit by Saint Laurent, telling Vogue she wanted to shout out her love for punk music. “I think it’s really fun that I’m not wearing a dress to my first Met,” she said. “I just think it looks so rock ’n’ roll and yet so sophisticated. I’m just a big fan of [Vaccarello at] Saint Laurent. Their clothes are so punk rock and yet feminine, and that’s something I always try to achieve in my fashion sense and my style in everyday life. I always think they’re pushing boundaries and doing really cool things, so I feel really lucky to get to wear them to my first Met.”

Didn’t think it was possible for Olivia to outdo herself after that Saint Laurent bodysuit, but here we are!
