Olivia Rodrigo Wears Shoes for the Girls Who Aren’t Ready to Buy Cowboy Boots Yet

In the blessed year of 2024, the cowboy boot trend is still going strong. Season after season, fashion lovers everywhere have proven the versatility of the classic country-western footwear, whether wearing their boots on a ranch or the streets of a metropolis. Of course, it certainly helps that the trend has been bolstered by a number of celebrities revitalizing the cowgirl craze. But if you’re not exactly ready to hop on the horse-drawn bandwagon, then Olivia Rodrigo just demonstrated a more low-key way of joining the in crowd.

Photographers captured snaps of the singer in New York City this week, where she recently wrapped four sold-out shows from her worldwide Guts Tour at Madison Square Garden.

Stepping out on a warm spring afternoon, Rodrigo looked every bit the It girl in a white midi slipdress covered in a delicate red and green floral print. But the true focal point of her outfit was her choice of footwear: Frye’s coveted knee-high leather campus boots. Rodrigo’s pair appeared to be well-loved, featuring a distressed warm honey tone. While not quite cowboy boots, the campus boots still fit right in with this season’s obsession with western wardrobes.

The Grammy winner rounded off her look with a few more accessories, including a leather Coach shoulder bag made of leather dyed a dark cherry red and a pair of inscrutably black-tinted oval sunglasses.
