Olivia Rodrigo Wears a Plunging Lace Slip Dress For Paris Fashion Week

There's something so easy, breezy, and timeless about the slip dress. The trend has earned a permanent place in the closets of It-Girls everywhere. Case in point: Olivia Rodrigo's wardrobe. We won't be needing our "driver's license" to see Olivia's plunging rendition of the slinky, lingerie-like frock, but we will be needing our passports as she wore the look halfway across the globe in Paris.
The end of summer is when we first saw Rodrigo leaning into the versatile style, rocking a bustier cup slip dress for a night out in NYC. Just this past month, Olivia wore a lilac and black silk Yves Saint Laurent slip dress while inducting Alanis Morissette into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala. So, will Olivia trade her trademark plaid miniskirts, flirty, Bridgerton-esque corsets, and punk schoolgirl-inspired 'fits for a more haute couture, chic look? Only time will tell — but her latest ensemble certainly points in a sleeker, sophisticated direction.
As a guest of the French luxury fashion house Givenchy, Olivia was not spared a single detail, from her slicked-back updo to her burgundy-polished toes. Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo styled the "good 4 u" songstress in Givenchy's Viscose and Lace slip dress in Bone White. Lace inserts at the bust and hem show slivers of Rodrigo's skin through sheer detailing while delicate crepe de chine straps wrap around her shoulders, meeting in a star-shaped cross at her back.
To keep the starlet warm, the stylists paired the dress with the brand's Long G Button-Front Coat. The creamy white hue of the knee-length overcoat meshes with the dress' neutral tones, adding a hint of glam with shiny gold clasps. Olivia only wore two accessories — a pair of chunky, peep-toe platform heels and a single gold 'G' shaped earring. Finishing off with a bold pop of color, Olivia swiped on a deep red lip shade before hitting the runways of Paris.
