Since you’ve probably never had your favorite pop star surprise you by hitching a ride with you and your family on the way to school, please feel free to live vicariously through Jimmy Kimmel‘s children.

Because Kimmel, his wife Molly McNearney and their two kids, Jane, 9, and Billy, 6, picked up a “hitchhiker” on their way to school. That hitchhiker turned out to be none other than “Driver’s License” singer Olivia Rodrigo.

In the taped segment for his show, Kimmel and Molly are sitting up front, with Jane and Billy looking bored in the back seat and the kids are discussing how much they don’t like school.

“Oh, there’s a hitchhiker over there, should we pick her up?” Kimmel asked as their car turned to reveal Rodrigo standing on the side of the road with her thumb out.

“Oh my God Billy, it’s Olivia Rodrigo,” Jane says, totally knocked out of her socks.

“Hey! Do you guys mind if I hitch a ride?” Rodrigo said as she climbed into the car and plopped down right between Billy and Jane.

After the initial shock wore off, Rodrigo asked Jane what her favorite song was.

“Um, I really like ‘Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl,'” Jane said.

“That’s one of my favorites too, that’s so sweet, thank you for saying that,” Rodrigo replies.

(Billy prefers The “Get Him Back” song, in case you were wondering.)

Then the Kimmel mobile turns into carpool karaoke as the whole crew belts out songs along with the stereo.

After dropping off the kids at school, Rodrigo said, “Thank you guys, I feel so loved!”

Jane utters one more “Oh my god” before putting on her backpack and heading into school.

Rodrigo made a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, where Kimmel told her his kids listen to her music every day during the morning commute to school.

“Hey, thank you for getting up early and giving my kids a real thrill,” Kimmel told her.

“It was so much fun. I hope they had a good time,” Rodrigo responded. “Oh, it was a pleasure.”

All I know is if Mariah Carey had hitched a ride in my own family’s Chevy Corsica back in the day and started belting out “Fantasy” or “Dreamlover,” I’d probably STILL not be over it. Well done, Jimmy Kimmel.
