Between Olivia Rodrigo speaking out about the Supreme Court leak and prom nights on the Sour Tour, you might’ve missed a major moment that happened between her and a fellow singer-songwriter. Hint: The two have a little bit of ~history~.

It looks like Olivia might be smoothing things over with Sabrina Carpenter after Monday’s Met Gala, where the two were photographed talking to each other more than a year after their love triangle with High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (it just rolls off the tongue!) actor Joshua Bassett began.

Blink and you’ll miss it though, because the main subject of the photo is Sebastian Stan, who is posing with Kim Kardashian standing next to him. Of course, sleuth fans flocked to the comments section to point out that the photograph also captured Olivia speaking to Sabrina in the background. “OLIVIA AND SABRINA LEMME SCREAM,” commented one Instagram user. “Okay Olivia and Sabrina interaction though 👀,” said another savvy viewer.

If you don’t remember all the details of Olivia and Joshua’s relationship timeline, it’s probably because it’s been more than a year since their drama began. “Drivers License” came out in January 2021 and totally blew up as fans decoded subtle Joshua references on Olivia’s album Sour, from hints about Billy Joel to mentions of cars and driving.

Olivia sang, “And you’re probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She’s so much older than me / She’s everything I’m insecure about,” in “Drivers License” before Sabrina Carpenter released “Skin,” where she sang, “Maybe you didn’t mean it / Maybe blonde was the only rhyme.”

But it looks like the two are patching things up—or at least getting along—based on the snapshot we saw of them chatting at the Met Gala. The opening lines of the song “Skin,” which most people think is about Olivia despite Sabrina saying it’s not about one single person, are “Maybe we could’ve been friends / If I met you in another life.”

All we’re saying is that we’d kill to see Sabrina and Olivia come out with a collab sometime in the future. Here’s hoping.
