Olivia Newton-John's Husband Shares Emotional Goodbye to Wife on Instagram

Many are still processing the death of Olivia Newton-John at the age of 73, and her husband, John Easterling, shared some of his emotions following the news.

Easterling took to Instagram, posting an adorable picture of him and Newton-John on the late singer's page, with a caption addressed to "Olivia."

The message began, "Our love for each other transcends our understanding. Every day we expressed our gratitude for this love that could be so deep, so real, so natural. We never had to ‘work’ on it."

The 70-year-old beautifully described his wife's compassion and strength, saying, "She was the most courageous woman I’ve ever known. Her bandwidth for genuinely caring for people, for nature and all creatures almost eclipses what is humanely possible."

While losing someone you love is inherently difficult, Easterling seems to have a positive perspective on it all, writing, "Even now as her soul soars, the pain and holes in my heart are healed with the joy of her love and the light that shines forward."

At the end of the caption, Easterling thanked everyone for the "vast ocean of love and support."

Easterling also posted the message on his own Instagram, and many people wrote touching responses in the comments, full of support, condolences, and their own appreciation for Newton-John.

Newton-John and Easterling got married in 2008, about a year after they first started dating, although they reportedly knew each other for about 15 years already at that point.

According to PEOPLE, the couple had a spiritual ceremony in Peru before completing a legal wedding ceremony in Jupiter Island, Florida not long after.

Easterling founded the Amazon Herb Company and serves as president. On his Instagram, his bio says that he is a "plant medicine researcher," with his account documenting his studies of plants throughout the Amazon rainforest and elsewhere.

From the looks of it, his company has most recently been focusing on the benefits of combining herbal plants with cannabis.
