Olivia Munn and John Mulaney‘s son, Malcolm Hiệp, is getting bigger all the time. Now 23 months old, he’s learning his first words—in a new language. In a sweet video posted to her Instagram, proud mama Munn showed off little Malcolm learning his first few words in Mandarin, and we have to admit, it’s very cute.

The 43-year-old actress shared the video on Sunday, which shows her sitting on the floor with Malcolm and reading to him from a book of Mandarin words. Munn has Malcolm repeat the words after her, as he giggles and sweetly goes nose-to-nose with his mom.

“John, look at this,” she says off camera to boyfriend John Mulaney, who appropriately responds with an, “aww” in the background.

In the caption, Munn thanked comedian Ali Wong for giving Malcolm the book of 100 Mandarin words, writing, “Malcolm loves it!

And from the looks of that video, he’ll be talking up a storm in no time!

Munn and Mulaney welcomed little Malcolm in November of 2021. Since then, they’ve both been open about the ups and downs of parenthood—especially Munn, who’s experienced postpartum depression since giving birth.

On Mother’s Day, she posted a message to other moms reading, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, but especially to the moms who are struggling with post partum depression/anxiety, still wearing their maternity clothes because you’ve realized that the snap back is […] and so unreal, and feel insecure as they scroll through Insta today realizing they don’t have the energy, creativity or brain power to post a beautiful pic of motherhood.”

She continued, “Thank you to @johnmulaney for knowing that all I wanted for Mother’s Day was a bucket of chicken, a box of biscuits and for him to take over all nap duties today.”
