Olivia Munn’s Son Malcolm Turns 2 & Celebrates at the Beach With a Super Creative Cake

Happy birthday, Malcolm! Olivia Munn and John Mulaney’s son turned 2 last week, and the family celebrated with an epic beach bash complete with a unique (and totally cute!) cake.
“Spent the last week celebrating Malcolm Hiệp TURNING TWO!! (Nov24) 🥳☀️🏖️ 2️⃣,” the Aleppo actress wrote on Instagram Tuesday. She continued, “You are the absolute joy of my life. I can’t believe I get to be your mama. 🥹”

Go to slide 7 in her Instagram carousel to see the birthday cake. It’s a round cake decorated with yellow frosting and fake palm trees to look like a beach scene. A light-up toy trash truck sits on top, leaving a trail of rocks and other colorful “trash” in its wake. “Happy 2nd Birthday Malcolm” is written on the side in green icing to complete the adorable cake.
Munn also shared several photos from the tropical getaway. In one, Malcolm wears a white-and-yellow swimshirt with pink sunglasses. Munn holds him next to a huge blue “2” balloon and an outdoor table set for the party, with pretty palm trees in the background. In another photo, Malcolm wears a white romper and blue cap as he stands on a beach chair with sand and turquoise blue water behind him. He is such a little cutie pie!
In another picture, Malcolm is dressed in green-and-white checkered swimshorts and black sunnies as he soaks up the sun with his mama. Mulaney is also on the vacation, at one point sitting on a chair filled with snacks and holding a juice pouch for his toddler to drink out of — which, genius! In another, the father-son duo is riding a kayak together on the ocean, wearing blue lifejackets. It seriously looks like a picture-perfect party. Why spend money on a huge birthday party when you could take the whole fam to the beach instead?
The last picture is a family photo. Munn wears a “happy birthday” tiara and Mulaney has on a trash truck t-shirt. Malcolm is wearing a white-and-yellow swimsuit and holding a tiny pumpkin for the cute photo.
“A trash truck party at the beach?!? Lucky boy!” one person commented. “This will be such an amazing year for the Munnlaney fam! Malcom will start talking all the time and his personality will develop and shine more and more. I miss that age.”
“Why do they all love trash trucks so much???” another asked. It’s one of those toddler mysteries, but we love it!
Mulaney and Munn started dating in early 2021 and welcomed Malcolm on Nov. 24, 2021. The comedian also celebrated Malcolm’s birthday with a cute selfie from the beach, featuring Malcolm in a French hat. He wrote, “Deux. Bon anniversaire, mon copain. I love you,” which translates to “Two. Happy birthday to you my buddy. I love you.”
