Olivia Holt, R3HAB, and THRDL!FE Team Up for “Wrong Move” Music Video

Should she trust the rabbit man?

While a glamorous masquerade in the Hollywood Hills is initially alluring to Olivia Holt, nothing is quite as it appears in the visual for “Wrong Move.” The Cloak & Dagger actor stars in the mysterious music video, premiering on Teen Vogue, which accompanies her collaboration with DJ/producer R3HAB and London-based duo THRDL!FE.

“The story starts with Olivia, driving a car, almost hitting a woman who is wet, but we can’t see her face,” R3HAB explains to Teen Vogue. “From there, she finds herself in a mansion where lots of unthinkable events happen.” As Olivia revels in the glamour of the estate, she repeatedly encounters a man in a rabbit mask. While she’s uncertain of whether or not to be intrigued or wary of making a “wrong move” around him, she ultimately gets too close to the ominous figure who hands her a key. Olivia finds herself drawn to the chaos created by the malevolent being, but narrowly escapes falling in too deep by jumping into a pool.

“My role in this video is very mysterious and mischievous,” Olivia says. At the end, we find out that she has a connection to the woman she shrouded figure we meet at the beginning of the video. “I feel like it’s definitely ‘a through the looking glass’ play on tale of Alice In Wonderland,” she adds. “It has that very eerie Tim Burton-vibe to it, but it’s very intriguing, exciting and exhilarating all at once.”

When it comes to the song, if its pop ethos sounds vaguely familiar, it's likely because of who helped pen the lyrics. “Originally the lyrics were co-written by Julia Michaels who we are such big fans of,” explains THRDL!FE. So, it’s not surprising that the infectious bop, which came out in late June, earned more than 1 million streams in its first week of release.

"THRDL!FE found a demo version of the song and I fell in love with it right away," R3HAB adds. "We started working on it together and once Olivia sang it we knew we had potentially a summer anthem."

“Wrong Move” is just some of the new music that we're getting from Olivia in 2018. In early May, the 20-year-old star had revealed in an interview that she had “been in the studio writing and recording almost every single day this year.” And just last week, she paired up with Danish artist Martin Jensen for the catchy pop track “16 Steps.”

While THRDL!FE doesn’t have any plans to work with Olivia again as of yet, they’d jump at the chance. “She is a star,” they say."
