Oliver Davis Joins The Syndicate Due To Jackson Goldstone's Injury

There was a lot of big news to come out of the Downhill World Cup scene this offseason but one of the biggest bits ahead of the season opener in a few weeks was that Jackson Goldstone will be missing the bulk of the year with an ACL and MCL reconstruction surgery.

In his place, The Syndicate has pulled 19 year old junior phenom Oliver Davis from the Commencal Schwalbe team after he was brought onto that only nine weeks ago. The Syndicate dropped the news via an Instagram post which you can find below.

Davis has been on the come up for a while now. The young Australian had a top 20 finish at World's last year and won the last stop on the Victorian DH series a little over a month ago.

How Santa Cruz convinced Commencal Schwalbe to let him go on such short notice is some next level sleight of hand from the California brand. Will he fill the hole that Jackson is leaving this season? No, probably not. But, will he be a good long term play for the team? Yes, more than likely.

The kid is only 19 so he has plenty of time to grow into his racing shoes and if his time in Juniors was any indication, the future is bright for him. We are excited to see how this move develops for the Syndicate and Davis.
