A house with a lot of color — and a lot of personality — is turning heads thanks to a popular social media account.
This four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom residence has listed for $329,900, which is a bargain considering it was designed by a student of the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie School of Architecture in Chicago.
Frank Weber is responsible for this custom home that’s considered a “piece of art and history” as the school he attended is named after the most famous architect in the world. The home is also a brilliant example of mixing themes, since it’s a combination of Mediterranean and Arabic architectural styles, the listing on Realtor.com says.
“Appreciate the compression and expansion of the entryway into an enormous living room with soaring domed ceilings, original murals, built-ins, leaded and stained glass windows, and an indoor cherub fountain in the sun soaked solarium,” the listing describes.
“One of the first fully electric homes in Decatur there are operational original chandeliers and wall sconces throughout.”
Other features across the 4,241-square-foot home, per the listing, include:
Flex room
Storage
House generator
Kitchen floor heaters
Fireplace
Shed
The home was featured on Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page that highlights unique houses up for sale across the country. And people were a tad surprised but liked it.
“What in the Olive Garden?” one person said.
“It seems like it’s a very good price for the home. I really like it,” another commented.
“Despite being amused by some rooms, I still love it,” someone noted.
“It needs a whole lot of paint, but a great house for the price,” one person said.
“It’s called ‘let’s jam all of the things in all of the styles into one house,’” another wrote.
