So long, Mandy Baxter!

After Fox decided to bring Last Man Standing back for another season, fan-favorite actress Molly Ephraim, who played Tim Allen and Nancy Travis’ on-screen middle daughter, opted not to return to the series. Reports claimed she had committed to other projects, and now we’re getting a first look at one of the major roles she’s scored since exiting the show.

Ephraim will appear in The Front Runner when it's released on November 21 with the role of Irene Kelly. The film retells the true story of Gary Hart’s presidential campaign in 1988, which was thrown off course when he was caught having an extramarital affair. From the looks of the trailer above, it seems Ephraim’s character will help out on the campaign trail.

Though this is the 32-year-old's first time on the big screen since leaving the Baxters behind, Ephraim has kept busy appearing on shows like Bartender, Halt and Catch Fire, Casual, and a TV movie called Park.

Now, it appears she’s swapping family comedies for political thrillers, and we can’t wait to see how she holds up against stars like Jackman, J.K. Simmons, and the other impressive cast mates who star alongside her in The Front Runner. In even more delightful news for Last Man Standing fans: Ephraim had a familiar face on set when she started filming-her former TV sister, Kaitlyn Dever, is in the upcoming movie, too!

Though many viewers still miss Ephraim on Friday nights, it looks like there will be plenty of ways to catch her on the big and small screens in the future.
