British actor Aaron Pierre will now be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut alongside Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali in the upcoming Blade reboot, according to reports.

Pierre's previous works include M. Night Shyamalan's Old, Amazon Prime's The Underground Railroad, and SyFy's Superman prequel Krypton. He's also going to be voicing for Mufasa in Barry Jenkins' upcoming Lion King prequel. As for his role in Blade, details have been kept under wraps for now, and Marvel Studios has yet to confirm his official casting, but Deadline says "the role itself was one of the more highly coveted parts in Hollywood."

With Ali on board as the titular vampire hunter, the Blade reboot is now set to be directed by Bassam Tariq alongside Delroy Lindo on the cast, Stacey Osei-Kuffour as the scriptwriter, and Marvel head Kevin Feige as producer. Unfortunately, there's no specific release date yet for Blade, but insiders believe it'll take up one of Marvel's three 2023 release spots alongside Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

For the Marvel fans out there, definitely stay tuned for more updates to come.
