Oklahoma Iris Society hosts 92nd Annual Iris Festival

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma Iris Society is hosting its 92nd Annual Iris Festival this weekend, April 27 and 28.

The festival will be held at the Will Rogers Garden Exhibition Center on Saturday, April 27, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday, April 28, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

According to the Oklahoma Iris Society Facebook page, the theme for this years festival will be titled “Pure Imagination” and is based on the new “Wonka” movie. Floral designs will be connected to the more famous moments from the 1971 and 2023 films.

A huge Iris exhibition will be on display along with an Iris photography contest. There will be an activity area for the kids which will include garden rock painting, coloring, and much more.

Free educational courses will be on hand throughout the festival and will be subjected around floral design, irises 101, and butterfly friends.

Thousands of irises will also be on sale for both Saturday and Sunday, but they will be sold on a first come, first serve basis with the possibility of them selling out on Saturday.

The event will be free to attend with no ticket or registration needed.
