OJ Simpson Denies Reports That He's Battling Cancer, Seeking Hospice Care

O.J. Simpson is disputing reports that he's battling cancer. A report on Friday from Florida’s Local 10 News claims Simpson has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and has been seeking chemotherapy treatment in Las Vegas. The Local 10 report cites unnamed “sources” with providing the information, though doesn’t go into detail about any specifics of Simpson’s alleged diagnosis or treatment.

“Simpson has been reportedly telling his friends and family that he’s been hearing rumors that he’s in hospice care,” Local 10 reported.

On Friday, Simpson denied the rumors himself in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. “I’m not in any hospice. I don’t know who put that out there,” Simpson clarified. “Whoever put that out there, I guess it’s like the Donald say: ‘You can’t trust the media.’” He went on to say that “all is well,” and he’ll be hosting friends for this weekend’s Super Bowl LVIII, although he did not specifically address claims that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

Former NFL superstar Simpson was at the center of the so-called “Trial of the Century” when he was accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. Although he was acquitted of criminal charges Simpson was later found responsible in a civil trial, which awarded the victim's family $33.5 million.

In 2008, he was convicted of armed robbery for stealing back his own sports memorabilia in an ill-advised heist. He served nine years in prison before being paroled. He’s since spent most of his time on the golf fields and on social media, where he frequently remarks on sports news.
