Where Ohio ranks among top 10 states for ‘adventurous summer vacation’

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Ohio has been ranked as one of the top five best states to visit for an adventurous vacation this summer.

According to the study done by Westgate Branson Resorts, after looking at nine key factors, Ohio was ranked number five for travelers to visit for an adventurous getaway.

The raw data for each factor was given a number from 0 to 10. The factors that Westgate Branson Resorts used for the study include hashtags on Instagram, the number of hiking trails, skydiving opportunities, national parks, nature reserves, mountain ranges, wildlife areas, Tripadvisor Things-To-Do reviews and flatness.

Ohio secured the fifth spot by providing activities such as skydiving and the number of wildlife areas and hiking trails. Ohio also placed as the “fifth most Instagrammable state for an adventure vacation.”

Florida took the number one spot with an index score of 78.09 out of 100. It was also ranked as the most Instagrammable state and for the TripAdvisor category.

In second place is California, which has a wide range of adventure activities including, surfing, skiing, hiking, camping, and exploring national parks like Yosemite and Joshua Tree.

Following behind in third and fourth place are New York and Virginia.
