Ohio Brewery's Clever Way of Giving Back to Shelter Pets Is Such a Hit

Three years ago, Cincinnati's Streetside Brewery began brewing a special, 'one time only' promotional beer. The batch, named "Who's a Good Beer?" was a way for the brewery to give back to local shelter pets, but now it's one of their most popular beers, too. In fact, they've now brewed over 20 separate batches!

This generous brewery helps Ohio's local shelter animals by donating 25% of the profit from every four-pack sold. $1 per each pour of 'Who's a Good Dog?' also benefits their partner shelters: the Ohio Alleycat Resource (OAR) and the Save The Animals Fountain (STAF).

As Streetside owner Garrett Hickey explained, the flavor is “citrusy, watermelon and a little bit of pear,” which makes this hazy pale ale a great choice for a summertime sip. Sounds delicious, right? It's easy to see why this promotional beer quickly became one of their most popular menu choices.

However--one of our favorite campaign details isn't even in the beer itself: each can features the image of an adoptable shelter pet! The adorable doggos and 'aww-inspiring' cats can be rescued through either OAR or STAF. You'll see cover models such as 10-month-old pup Legend and 13-year-old feline Van Gogh, though both shelters are filled with so many more than just the eight featured pets from this campaign.

As Garrett Hickey told WAFF, 300 cases and 600 kegs of "Who's a Good Boy?" has raised over ten thousand dollars for the two animal shelters. Nearly 60 pets have found their forever homes in the Cincinnati area, too! With as much success this beer has, we have a feeling we'll see this "one-time-only" brew quite frequently.
