Oh, Yikes, Kate and William Are Taking Legal Action Against ‘Tatler’ and They’re “Furious”
Kate Middleton and Prince William are “furious” about Tatler magazine’s cover story about the duchess.
Kensington Palace sent legal letters on Kate’s behalf, and sources say the piece is “full of lies.”
Last week, Tatler magazine published a truly !!! cover story about Kate Middleton, wherein they allegedly spoke to a buncha the duchess’s “friends” who claimed that Kate is upset about her workload following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s departure and that she’s “exhausted” due to her increased duties. They even dished on Kate’s “row” with Meghan at the royal wedding, claiming they argued over Princess Charlotte’s tights.
Kensington Palace already released a statement denying the “swathe of inaccuracies & false misrepresentations” made in the magazine, but now, it looks like William and Kate are taking legal action. Sources tell the Daily Mail that Kensington Palace sent legal letters on Kate’s behalf to have the article taken down. Apparently, the Palace is “furious” about claims that Kate feels “exhausted and trapped” as well as comments the article makes about her weight.
“That is such an extremely cruel and wounding barb. It’s disgusting. It’s sexist and woman-shaming at its very worst,” a source says. “The piece is full of lies. There is no truth to their claim that the duchess feels overwhelmed with work nor that the duke is obsessed with Carole Middleton. It’s preposterous and downright wrong. The whole thing is class snobbery at its very worst. The stuff about Pippa is horrible. Tatler may think it’s immune from action as it’s read by the royals and on every coffee table in every smart home, but it makes no difference. It’s ironic that the royals’ favorite magazine is being trashed by them. The duchess is a naturally shy woman who is doing her best.”
Meanwhile, a Tatler spokesperson tells Entertainment Tonight, “Tatler’s editor-in-chief, Richard Dennen, stands behind the reporting of Anna Pasternak and her sources. Kensington Palace knew we were running the ‘Catherine the Great’ cover months ago and we asked them to work together on it. The fact they are denying they ever knew is categorically false.”
