I absolutely and unabashedly love to wear white. In the summer, I live for a white one piece paired with cutoffs and a gold necklace. Come winter, I'm all about the ivory, bone, and softer iterations of the hue. And let me be clear—I do not believe that one should stop wearing white after Labor Day. Maybe the bright toothpaste-commercial-white hues... but there's variety in this basic color. Which brings me to the perfect late-summer-well-into-fall shirt dress: The St.Roche Tippi Shirtdress.

It's an organic cotton throw-on-and-go number that the label—which is designed and run by Sue Stemp—is known for. Having owned many St.Roche pieces over the years, I can attest that this easy shirt dress is elegant, so well made, and just the most versatile off-white piece I've ever gotten my hands on.

Let's talk details: the piece has a relaxed fit with a separate waist tie (so if you wanted to go without or wear it with a leather belt, you very well could. See? Versatility.) Beyond that, the adjustable 3/4 length puff sleeves have gorgeous broderie-anglaise embroidery, and delicate pintuck detailing at the bodice is ornamented by covered buttons, so you can adjust the piece as you wish.

In the summer, I'm pairing the frock with my new J.Crew fisherman sandals, or my go-to Emme Parsons strappy sandals. Maybe my favorite Janessa Leone sunhat. Come Labor Day weekend, I'll throw this on with a pair of suede loafers. And then for fashion week? I'll swap out sandals with a pair of heeled tan boots, grab a clutch and a great pair of shades and head to the shows. It's an oh-so-effortless transitional piece that I will wear until it's officially chilly out.
