After a Year Off, Dunkin’s Peppermint Mocha is Back

Spooky season is behind us and the holiday season is already approaching. With it comes a slew of announcements about the yuletide flavors that will be making their way into our lives over the next two months. While most of them simply function as a reminder that it’s now November, this one in particular should be welcome news for fans of a holiday beverage that’s come back from the dead.

That’s because Dunkin’ (Donuts) just announced that it’s reviving its peppermint mocha flavor on November 6th. According to a press release, “the guest-favorite combination of cool mint and rich chocolate can once again be enjoyed in Dunkin’s hot or iced coffee, Cold Brew, espresso drinks, frozen coffee and frozen chocolate.”

It’s coming back after a one-year hiatus that left more than a few fans out in the cold. At the time, they told TODAY that they were trying to “disrupt the norm with a bit of the unexpected,” but the news was greeted largely by disappointed from dedicated Dunkin’ heads who’d rather die than go the Starbucks across the street to get their peppermint mocha fix.

If anything, it now seems like Dunkin’ is making up for lost time when it comes to its peppermint offerings. This year, they’ll add a new Merry Mocha Mint Signature Latte, which includes their Peppermint Mocha flavoring alongside hot chocolate powder, whipped cream, and a mocha drizzle. It sounds more like dessert than coffee, but the holiday season mainly functions as an excuse to gorge ourselves on treats, so it all works out.

If you’re the kind of Dunkin’ fiend who just can’t go another minute without drinking a Peppermint Mocha from one specific coffee and doughnut chain, you can get access to the good stuff a day earlier (November 5th) via mobile ordering in the Dunkin’ app. Until then, get your very niche Dunkin Peppermint Mocha release day advent calendar prepped, because the countdown is ON.
