Is a NYX x Farsáli Collaboration Really Happening?

There's a ton of killer makeup collaborations at the moment. There's ColourPop x Alexis Ren, Nars x Charlotte Gainsbourg, and M.A.C. x Gabriel Zamora/Lar Lar Lee, just to name a few. All of the collabs make total sense. One that is puzzling the beauty world these week involves two major social media-friendly brands: NYX and Farsáli. Yup, NYX, the affordable beauty brand you know and love, is teaming up with Farsáli, the Instagram-popular skin care line. We're puzzled too, but totally excited at the same time.

An Instagram post from TrendMood showed the NYX x Farsáli packaging, which looks like a drop of foundation or serum, which Farsáli is famous for. Inside is the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation{: rel=nofollow}, Farsáli Unicorn Tears, and a brush. We have no idea if this is just a kit that's just the two brands sold together, or if they are actually working on new products as a duo.

What's confusing fans of both brands is how different Farsáli and NYX are. NYX is accessible and affordable, sold at Forever 21 and in its chic store. Farsáli is expensive, sold only at Sephora and online. Over on Reddit, people are giving their two cents about the collab. Most think Farsáli is a bit overhyped, and not worth the price tag.

"I honestly think that's the whole appeal to it all is droppers," user octopixx wrote. "It;s become this cool thing and I have no idea why but every Instagram beauty video features some kind of drops. I mean, I have a foundation with a dropper but that's because I happen to like the foundation. I have no doubt that this will sell even if the price is kind of high." She adds that she's talked to her friends and they have no idea how much this set could cost considering the price discrepancy between the two brands.

"Many people think its strange just looking at the price points alone. Farsali is supposedly higher end at Sephora while Nyx is a lower end brand sold at drugstores and Ulta. No one can even guess where the price will fall," she wrote.

User kwichurbchn threw out another collab idea that sounds just as random, writing: "This is so weird! What's next!? A Marc Jacobs and Wet N' Wild collab?!?" Actually, that sounds like an amazing idea, no?

I have a feeling this is just a press kit and won't be sold but who knows at this point! We've reached out to both brands and will update this post when we have more information available.
