NYX Launches New Full-Coverage Matte Foundation in 45 Shades
Even now that 40-shade foundation ranges are slowly-but-surely started to become an industry norm, many people are still stuck mixing multiple hues to find the perfect match. However, NYX's new Can't Stop, Won't Stop line of full-coverage foundations, is looking to change that.
As Allure reported, NYX worked with beauty vlogger Alissa Ashley to develop the new 45(!) shade range, which promises options for every skin tone, with a focus on offering a variety of undertones ranging from yellow golden to cool to red.
"The main thing I did was help develop shades," Alissa told Allure. "We noticed that a lot of in-between shades were missing. NYX already has an amazing shade range to begin with, but even though it was good, it could still be improved by adding some middle or in-between shades. For example, I’m someone who has to constantly mix different shades to match my skin tone. When developing this new range, we found that if we mixed two together or tweaked it by adding a slight undertone, we could get those in-between shades."
According to Allure, each bottle is named with both a number and a description – for example, Alissa's shade is 15.9 Warm Honey, a "medium tan with caramel undertones" – and the decimal numeral accounts for slight variations in undertones.
