NYC Shelter Makes Plea for Adopters As They're Critically Over Capacity

A New York City animal shelter, known on TikTok as @nycacc, is desperately seeking the public's help as its dog population remains critically overpopulated. There are barely any empty kennels so some dogs have to stay in pop-up crates.

The shelter especially needs help with the larger dogs. They've set up a promotion to help get the large dogs over 40 pounds adopted, but still no luck. Be prepared for your heart to be broken into a million pieces as you watch this clip.

Ugh, this isn't right. No dog should ever have to experience life in an animal shelter, let alone being in there for over 200 days. They should all know what it's like to live in a loving home filled with endless snuggles, treats, and playtime.

As New York City's sole municipal shelter, they cannot turn down any animal that walks in through their doors. Just this year alone, they've brought in over 2,000 stray dogs. And now it's the public's turn to help out. "Truly the best adoption experience I’ve ever had! Everyone was so kind - truly worth the drive also if you’re out of state!" said @sogemini97. See?! It's worth it to help these dogs. Plus, who wouldn't want to have an adorable dog to wake up to every morning?!

If you'd like to adopt one of these precious fur babies, please visit the Animal Cares Center of NYC website for more information. Even if you are unable to foster or adopt, sharing the word can make a difference. Let's get these doggos to their forever homes ASAP!
