NYC Dog Photographer Highlights Adoptable Husky Mix Puppy with the Perfect Name

Sometimes, there's something about a dog that's simply meant to be. Whether it's finding a stray puppy just in the nick of time or meeting the shelter dog of your dreams, dog owners and their soul dogs always find one another.

Just ask Husy-mix Dancer! This beautiful shelter dog from NYC was recently featured in a March 1 video from a famous dog photographer called 'the Dogist,' and she's loving her moment in the spotlight. The only thing she'd love more is a forever home to celebrate her new-found fame in, and Elias, the dog photographer, is determined to help her make it happen.

What a beautiful puppy! This mixed-breed dog's markings are absolutely beautiful, and I wish I could reach through the screen to boop her nose. I guess that's my way of saying that her cuteness levels are off the charts! Between her sweet and happy demeanor and her darling face, it's a shock how she hasn't been adopted yet.

But her time will come! This rescue dog with Hearts and Bones Rescue has so much personality to share with those willing to give her a chance. She will be a large dog, though, and that could be a challenge for apartment residents in New York City, but an owner willing to give this Husky puppy plenty of love and exercise could make it work.

Additionally, Dancer has been receiving lots of training, healthcare, and love since joining her foster mom at home. Just listen to everything this proud woman has to say about her! I know she will be thrilled when this shelter dog finally finds her perfect match, but I have a feeling she's going to be a bit sad to see her go, too.

Adopting a Puppy Is Extra Work

Usually, older shelter dogs spend a lot longer waiting in humane societies and rescues to find their forever homes. What is there to say? People love puppies! While it's easy to understand the appeal of having a sweet, floppy puppy, it's also important to consider all of the extra work that comes with bringing home a four-legged baby.

First things first, are you ready to go shopping? Puppies require different food as they grow, and you can count on replacing at least a few household items during the teething phase. Puppies may need to visit the vet more frequently if they're not up to date with their puppy vaccines, and you'll be looking at a spay or neuter appointment soon, too.

Besides the extra costs, puppies also require more work than other new dogs. They'll need more frequent meals and potty breaks, regular training, and plenty of socialization. There's so much more to think about than bringing home someone adorable like Dancer!
