Nutella Is About to Give Away Hundreds of Jars for Free–Here’s How to Get One

In honor of World Nutella Day, Nutella Cafe stores are giving the chocolate-hazelnut spread away for free. Here's how to get a jar for yourself.

World Nutella Day is coming up, and we know you want to celebrate.

If you thought the holidays were over, you’re dead wrong. Next Tuesday, February 5, marks the all-important holiday of World Nutella Day. It’s a day for the global population to come together and join in on a delicious, chocolate-and-hazelnut spoonful of Nutella goodness. (If this can’t bring about world peace we don’t know what can.)

In honor of the big day, Nutella Cafe stores in New York and Chicago want to ensure people have access to the delicious spreadable treat. So, they are giving it away for free.

The two Nutella Cafe store locations will be giving away 500 jars of Nutella each and debuting new offerings at the same time.

According to a press release, the first 100 on-site customers at both Nutella Cafe locations will be gifted with a free Nutella jar. And, that jar will even come inscribed with their name. The next 400 fans to walk in the door and purchase a regular menu item will also receive a complimentary classic Nutella jar.

Beyond the classics, fans can also experience an interactive demonstration station in New York, where they can learn how to make their own Nutella Cafe favorites right at home. And, on Tuesday, the New York location will unveil a new off-menu item: Mandarin Cup with Crumble and Nutella. Here’s what’s inside and how to make it yourself:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mandarin juice

  • ¼ cup water

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of powdered gelatine

  • 2 tablespoons of crumble (per portion)

  • Fresh fruit to taste

  • 1 tablespoon of Nutella (per portion)

Method

  1. In a container, wet the gelatine in cold water.

  2. Warm the mandarin juice together with the water and the sugar and then add the gelatine.

  3. Position the glasses at 45 degrees and fill them with the gelatine mixture to obtain the visual effect shown in the picture.

  4. Once the gelatine has solidified, decorate with the pastry crumble.

  5. Finish with 1 tablespoon of Nutella®

  6. Decorate with fresh fruit

Of course, if you’re a megafan, you could always fly to Dubai for the holiday, where The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi will be celebrating with a free-flowing Nutella fountain all day long. The hotel will have marshmallows, fruits, and more dippable favorites so everyone can enjoy.

But, if you can’t leave your house that’s OK too. World Nutella Day’s website lists plenty of ways you can celebrate at home with recipes, party ideas, activities, and more. You can also try whipping up Real Simple's Nutella cones with hazelnut praline and Nutella and raspberry sandwiches.

All you need to do next is share your love of the sweet treat on social media with #WorldNutellaDay. Just make sure to take it slow as the sugar rush will surely hit you.
