There are two Harry Potter firsts that everyone remembers. One is the first time they found themselves lost in J.K. Rowling’s fantasy land, and the other is the first time they became inexplicably attracted to one of the characters from the remarkable heptalogy. Now that the first Harry Potter book is turning 20 years old, its original readers (ORs, if you will) are officially mature and most likely ready to revisit the more titillating aspects of HP, like when Harry and Cho Chang KISS!

A podcast called The Potterotica Podcast does just that, and it’s basically every grown-up Potterhead’s dream podcast. In each episode, its three hosts read erotic HP fanfic, with episode titles like, “The Vibrating Broomstick” and “Love Potion No. 9.” Needless to say, things get hot.

Levi-OOO-sa is right

The podcast hosts, Allie LeFevere, Lyndsay Rush, and Danny Chapman, didn’t know that “Potterotica” existed until recently, so you’re not alone if you’re surprised by the impressive library of wizard sex scenes that exist. But now that you know, consider the Chamber of Secrets opened.

Yes, this is life-changing

Do you remember that moment when Hagrid changes Harry’s life by telling him, “You’re a wizard, Harry.” Think of this as that moment, because we’re telling you, “There’s a lot of erotica written about Harry Potter, friends.” Consider your life changed. The Podcast’s reps told us what to expect in each episode, saying,

“You can expect unlikely romances, kinky love scenes, all-too-familiar characters. With humor, curiosity, and true fandom, they explore and expound on a Potterotica story; one chapter each episode. They’ll encounter unlikely romances, steamy love scenes, and all-too-familiar characters.”

Does that mean we might finally get a hot-n-steamy scene between Harry and Hermione? (Don’t act like your 13-year-old self wasn’t yearning for that.) We hope so.

At a time when Voldemort’s takeover of the wizarding world seems less like a fictional fantasy of our childhoods and more like a frightening reality, returning to Harry Potter from a more grown-up perspective sounds weirdly comforting, and also really fun. The Potterotica Podcast reps told us,

“Listeners will feel fan-ship kinship, get to experience their favorite characters all grown up, laugh along as three friends tease each other and make obscure ’90s references, and revel in the ridiculousness of erotic fanfic fantasies from HP fans all over the world.”

Sounds good to us.
