Out with the old and in with the Nuuly.
A new clothing rental service from the URBN family of brands, which includes Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Free People (plus thousands of other styles, both vintage and new), just launched, and the prices are too good to be true.
Unlike another popular clothing rental service (*cough, Rent the Runway, cough*) that charges $89/month for four pieces (called the "Update" membership), Nuuly is charging $88/month for six clothing items. They'll send you your six choices in a recycled ocean-waste plastic garment bag, and you can return or buy the clothing (for a discounted price) when your month is up.
The cost also includes free two-day shipping and returns versus RTR, which has one and same-day shipping for NYC residents, aka a HUGE timesaver. But, you're getting two extra items each month with Nuuly. Similar to RTR, laundry, dry cleaning and repairs are all included in the price.
Besides the URBN family of brands, Nuuly also carries Levi's, AYR, LoveShackFancy, Paige, Gal Meets Glam, AGolde, Yumi Kim and more.
Although the site launched last week, it experienced such high initial sign-up volume from excited customers, that there's already a waitlist to join. No word yet on whether there will be an option similar to RTR's "unlimited" membership, which lets customers swap out their four items throughout the month on a constantly rotating basis. But with this much hype, anything seems possible.
Yes, even renting that Anthro maxi dress you've had your eye on for weeks for a fraction of the price. (That's the sound of your closet freaking out.)
