You Can Now Fly From the U.S. to Mexico on a Semi-private Jet for Less Than $600

Semi-private jet company JSX relaunches flights to Los Cabos, Mexico, this week from two major U.S. cities.

Starting this week, JSX passengers will have a new destination to explore: Mexico's Cabo San Lucas (CSL).

The semi-private jet company offers luxury flights within the United States, and its two routes to Los Cabos — one from Los Angeles (LAX) starting Dec. 15 and one from Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) starting Dec. 16 — will be the carrier's first dedicated international service.

"We are steadfast in our commitment to easing access to vacation-worthy destinations by offering the most convenient and hassle-free travel possible," JSX CEO Alex Wilcox said in a statement. "After the success of our pop-up flights to Cabo last spring, we are thrilled to now offer a seasonal international flight service that provides an opportunity for customers to enjoy the warm sandy beaches of Mexico this holiday season and skip long lines, unfriendly airports, and packed planes."

Unlike with other private jet providers, booking a flight on JSX doesn't require a membership — anyone can book a flight on its regularly scheduled shuttle services on luxe business jets. The planes offer first class-style seating with plenty of space for each passenger, plus perks like free drinks (including cocktails) and gourmet snacks. Checked baggage is included, and small pets who fit into an under-seat carrier can fly for free.

Perhaps best of all, JSX flies out of private jet terminals or Fixed Base Operators (FBOs), which means you don't need to go through TSA security. (There are still security checks, but they're expedited.) That means you can roll up just 20 minutes before your flight — or 40 in the case of Los Cabos flights, since they're international — and more or less walk straight onto your plane.

The LAX flights to Los Cabos and back will operate on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, while the DAL flights will operate on Monday, Friday, and Saturday; They're perfectly timed for weekend getaways. Rates start at $599 one-way and include two or three checked bags, depending on the fare class, plus alcoholic beverages on board, and soon, free Starlink Wi-Fi, which was just approved by the FAA. Book your flight at jsx.com. Flights to Los Cabos from Los Angeles and Dallas start at $599.
