It seems Costco has upped the ante on their same-day delivery offerings by promoting that customers can receive their groceries in an hour. An announcement on costco.com announced the service as a partnership with Instacart.

To use the service, simply order your groceries online and schedule your delivery (in as little as an hour), and your handpicked groceries will be delivered to your door.

Every day, the idea of physically taking a trip to your local grocery store becomes more and more outdated. Amazon and Walmart have already recently hopped aboard the grocery delivery train and now in what's likely an attempt to keep up with the rising competition, Costco is rolling out two brand new grocery delivery services.

Just months after the grocery giant partnered with Shipt to optimize delivering items to customers in the Tampa Bay area, Costco is now offering two delivery services with differing options: Same-day and two-day.

The two-day delivery option will only be available for customers purchasing dry groceries, and it'll be free for orders $75 or over all across the U.S. Both fresh produce and dry goods are eligible for the same-day delivery, but the option is only available in 376 Costco locations. It's also important to note that there's a 10 percent service fee added to any same-day orders, and the food you buy will be about 15 to 17 percent higher than if you walked into the store. In addition, the orders must be $35 or higher for customers to avoid any other additional fees added.

The whole thing sounds like kind of a doozy but it'll beat having to lug a ton of groceries home after a long day.

A representative for Shipt clarified the company's announcement, saying that the app itself will be expanding to 50 new locations by the end of the year, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Costco option will as well. That will depend on whether it's a good fit for both Shipt and Costco in each new location. So if Shipt becomes available in your hometown, check to see if Costco is included in the plan before signing on.

When you take a trip to Costco, chances are you've blocked out an entire afternoon. The stores are so massive that it's easy to get lost in the aisles, browsing the books on display and chowing down on free samples. But if you don't have time to shop in bulk, there's now a new option for you.

USA Today reports that a delivery service called Shipt is starting a program to deliver Costco to your door. It's beginning in Tampa, Florida, and plans to expand to 50 other locations across the country by the end of the year. According to MarketWatch, you can even order Costco through Shipt if you're not a member. If you are a member, you'll get points for getting your Costco goods delivered.

But this delivery is going to cost you. If you sign up for Shipt, you have to pay a $99 annual fee, which also covers deliveries from local grocery stores. Once you order, you can schedule a one-hour window for your items to be dropped off at your home, and a Shipt worker goes shopping for you and delivers what you asked for.

Shipt isn't the only company doing this sort of thing; you can use the service Instacart in some locations to get Costco without leaving your couch. It might be the solution for busy people who want to buy in bulk, but it definitely removes some of the fun of wheeling your massive cart around - and buying way more than you ever intended.
