Now There’s a Puma Sneaker Inspired by Your Favorite Shade of MAC Lipstick
An exclusive first look at Puma and MAC’s limited-edition sneaker collection, out today.

Over the past few seasons, sneakerheads have been served an eclectic dose of footwear options. There is the dirty dad sneaker at Balenciaga, the elf tennis shoe at Loewe, and a bedazzled hiking lace-up from Gucci. And now there is even a sneaker for the beauty obsessed. Enter Puma and MAC’s special-edition collaboration in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Puma Suede sneaker. Available exclusively in the U.S. at puma.com starting May 17th, the collection includes a trio of classic Suede kicks designed in the exact colorways of three of MAC’s most popular lip colors: coral-red Lady Danger, peach-beige Crème d’Nude, and deep burgundy Sin.

While fashion collaborations with beauty brands and celebrities is certainly nothing new—Dolce & Gabbana and Smeg’s luxury line of Italian-minded kitchen appliances; Victoria Beckham’s colorful and affordable collection of women’s and children’s clothes for Target; Coach’s Keith Haring–inspired spring offering; Rihanna’s ongoing partnership with Puma, not to mention her previous limited-edition cosmetics for MAC—this new exclusive lineup of sneakers and matching lip shades feels right on time. Because unlike in seasons past, when streetwear wasn’t associated with perfectly coiffed hair or a full face of makeup, times have changed. We’re now in an era where all eyes are on Kendall Jenner’s low-slung Adidas track pants, Gigi Hadid’s cropped hoodies, Beyoncé’s Ivy Park–branded sports bras—and all of their glossy lip selfies in between. Even Kim Kardashian West—perhaps the ultimate glambot—modeled the latest season of her husband’s Yeezy line in ice-white hair and a nude makeup palette that matched his skin-toned spandex and tan sneakers. The lesson? There is no limit to the amount of glamour one can inject into her sportswear wardrobe—down to coordinating laces and lipstick. Above, an exclusive first look at Puma and MAC’s beauty-minded sneaker collection.
