This Is Not a Drill: Chip and Joanna Gaines Are Opening a Hotel

It would be an understatement to say that Chip and Joanna Gaines have a lot going on right now. But even with a market, restaurant, magazine, coffee shop, home goods line, TV network, a household of seven(!), and more to run, the Waco dream team still managed to find time in their schedules to tackle their biggest fixer upper to date.

Hold onto your toolbelts for this one, y’all.

The former HGTV stars announced this morning that they’re going into the hotel business.

The couple revealed that they are currently in the process of converting a historic 53,000 square-foot former office building—located just a few blocks from Magnolia Market at the Silos—into a three-story boutique hotel that will feature a grand ballroom, a full restaurant, a rooftop terrace and a café.

As expected, the hotel's design will “evoke Joanna’s affinity for timeless, classic details, while also preserving the building's rich history and highlighting its distinctive architectural features.”

"Home is a feeling, created by and for the people you love and share your life with; it’s a state of being known and loved just as you are," Chip and Jo explained in a press release. "That is our dream for this hotel—that it would serve as an extension of the way we feel about our own home and all it represents to us, and that every guest who comes to stay would experience that same sense of belonging and community."
