You Can Nominate a Teacher to Win a Dream Classroom Makeover from Wayfair Once Schools Reopen
Have you had some recent, new experience with homeschooling? If so, you're probably experiencing a newfound appreciation for teachers right about now. Well, online furniture destination Wayfair has a pretty great way to make them feel appreciated: A classroom makeover. Today, Wayfair Professional (the company's business program) launches its second annual Dream Classroom Giveaway, where it will select two deserving teachers to win a full classroom makeover for the new school year—regardless of what that looks like.
While learning certainly looks different right now than last year, with the coronavirus pandemic shifting schools to online and remote education, the team at Wayfair found that this was no excuse to skip a program to benefit teachers—in fact, they deserve recognition now more than ever. "After the unexpected disruption of the 2019-2020 school year, we’re looking forward to providing two exceptional teachers with completely refreshed classrooms for the new school year, courtesy of Wayfair Professional’s Dream Classroom Giveaway,” said Margaret Lawrence, vice president of Wayfair Professional, in an announcement.
The winning teachers will have the opportunity to completely refurbish their classrooms, optimizing them for the kind of learning that happens there. "They will work with Wayfair Professional’s classroom experts and our leading education industry partners to design spaces that are adaptable and meet the standards of a safe and productive learning environment," explains Lawrence. "While we don’t know exactly what the new school year will look like, we’re hopeful that new furnishings, storage, and supplies will enhance these classrooms for years to come."
Teachers can self-nominate, but the company will also accept nominations from parents, administrators, friends, and neighbors of deserving teachers. Wayfair is looking for teachers who have made an indelible impact on their students and community, who approach teaching in a unique way, and who will make the most of an updated classroom.
