The singer is getting candid about her fight with a Xanax addiction.

Noah Cyrus recently opened up about struggling with addiction and how her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, was there for her while she committed to recovery.

The singer sat down with Kelly Clarkson during her talk show Monday, recalling the advice her father gave her back in 2020 while she was fighting a Xanax addiction.

"He had me take my shoes off and put my feet in the grass, and really get connected to home," Cyrus said, adding, "He said, 'Noey, just stand still, breathe in the air. Just stand still and get connected back to who you really are — none of the rest of this matters. Like, let's just be here, me and you.' And we had such an amazing moment that I hadn't had in such a long time."

The "July" singer went on to say that her dad "didn't know how much I really needed to hear that and be reminded of that at that time."

Cyrus' latest single, "Noah, (Stand Still)," features her father and touches on the tough time in her life. Cyrus also revealed that the father-daughter duo share matching tattoos that read "stand still."

Back in July, Cyrus sat down with Billboard to talk about why she chose to open up about substance abuse in her music. The singer recently released her second album, The Hardest Part, with some of her most vulnerable lyrics to date.

“It’s obviously, in America, a huge issue,” she told the outlet in regards to drug use. “Everyone I knew was taking downers as a way to party, cope, a way to manage. For me, I was completely engulfed by it so it seemed like there was no escaping it in my lyrics.”

She continued, “My lyrics are the only place for my body to release those feelings and release what I need to say. This is my story, and it’s time that I be open and honest about that.”
