  • Noah Cyrus' latest song "Young & Sad" is all about how she felt growing up in Miley Cyrus' shadow.

  • Noah cried while she explained the song on Instagram Live.

Noah Cyrus has been through her ups and downs in her love life, but now she's letting us know what it felt like being Miley Cyrus' younger sister.

Her latest song "Young & Sad" is all about what it's like growing up with such a huge star in the family. The second verse goes. "My sister’s like sunshine, bringing good light wherever she’ll go/ and I was born to rain clouds, blessed in her shadows."

Noah went on IG Live to talk about the song and broke down in tears. "I think just the message in the second verse, being born in the family I was in, everyone gave me such a hard time for having a hard time being Miley’s little sister," Noah explained. "But you know, I always felt like I was that person that no one gave a sh*t about due to what people said to me online."

Noah went on to say that she felt like she would always be in Miley's shadow. "It was absolutely unbearable. And that’s why I write, 'My sister’s like sunshine, bringing good light wherever she’ll go/and I was born to rain clouds, blessed in her shadows.' Because, that’s why everybody always says to me, that no matter what, I was going to be in that shadow."

She later says that these feelings about being in Miley's shadow are a prominent part of her life, but she won't talk about it more. "Basically, that is what the song is about, and I just wanted to open up about that once and for all, because that’s been a big part of my life, and I probably won’t talk about it anymore. I just wanted to put it out."

As of now, Miley hasn't commented about the song publicly.
