The news around the COVID-19 outbreak is constantly changing, but information about food safety and how to keep yourself healthy is crucial right now. Here is a comprehensive list on the foods you should be stocking up on during this period of social distancing, as well as information about your local grocery stores’ changing hours, an explanation of “no-contact delivery,” and a guide on how to help your community and its businesses throughout closures.

The coronavirus has shown us the good in one another, with countless Americans donating time and funds to support nonprofits dedicated to feeding those in need. At the same time, many scams have popped up as criminals seek to take advantage of unsuspecting strangers by stealing items of value like personal information or money.

Trader Joe's this week warned customers about fake $250 coupons being circulated on Facebook. The grocery chain is NOT giving away free groceries because of the "Corona Pandemic."

"It has been brought to our attention that organizations may be appropriating the Trader Joe's name in association with coupon, discount, or gift card offerings online," the grocer wrote on its website. "Trader Joe's has NO association with these organizations. We do not offer any Trader Joe's coupons, discounts, or gift cards online."

According to the Associated Press, social media users were pushed to "hurry up" and click on a link to "collect your FREE voucher." The link redirected unassuming customers to a survey about Trader Joe's, which promised a fake coupon would arrive.

"When alerted to the existence of misleading promotions of this nature, Trader Joe's says it actively attempts to remove its name from any misleading promotions," the company said. "We protect the privacy of the information our customers share with us, and we will never ask for our customers to provide any personal or financial details in our communications."

Similar fake coupons for Walmart have also popped up on social media, the AP reported. So keep your eyes peeled, and if you see something, say something.

To end with some good news, Khloé Kardashian has quietly been popping up at Trader Joe's and Ralph's stores across Greater Los Angeles and paying for groceries for senior citizens. Kardashian also provided more than 200 gift cards for employees at the locations she visited.
