  • In a recent announcement, the producers of No Time to Die, the latest Bond film, again adjusted its post-coronavirus outbreak release date.

  • The film was originally slated for an April release.

  • It's now scheduled for November 20.

No Time to Die, the latest installment in the James Bond franchise, has adjusted its release date once again due to the coronavirus outbreak.

On Saturday, the official Twitter account made an announcement stating that instead of its intended November 25th release date in the U.S., the film will instead premiere in cinemas on November 20th.

"The return of old friends in NO TIME LEFT TO DIE," the statement read. "In cinemas 12th November UK, 20th November US."

Back in March, the franchise's producers announced that due to what was the beginning of the pandemic, the anticipated 25th Bond film was going to be pushed back to November from its March 31st (U.K.) and April 10th (U.S.) movie releases. The fact that movie theaters shut down and publicity tours were cancelled made the decision much clearer to the movie's producers as well.

“MGM, Universal and Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the theatrical marketplace, the release of No Time to Die will be postponed until November 2020,” says the official statement on the franchise’s Twitter account back in March.

This news comes three months after the production companies behind the film were sent an open letter from MI6-HQ (one of the biggest fan blogs for the 007 films), asking to “put public health above marketing release schedules.” The blog also wrote that the outbreak would have affected ticket sales, arguing that the countries where large public gatherings are either banned or restricted have also helped generate close to 38 percent of the box-office success of Spectre, the last Bond film, released in 2015.

The 25th installment sees Daniel Craig in his final turn as Bond, with Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, Christoph Waltz, and Ralph Fiennes returning to the franchise as well. Academy-Award winner Rami Malek will also appear as the latest villain to face off against the super spy.
