The internet seems to be really confused, so let's just clear this up. Even though it would have been amazing if they were, Dacre Montgomery and Zac Efron are not related. When Dacre first debuted as Billy on Stranger Things, people thought it was actually Zac who landed a role on the sci-fi thriller. Maybe it's the facial structure, or the hair or the fact that they're both really good-looking, no one can deny that the two stars really do look alike, but no they aren't twins or even related. Even though Dacre's been on the show for two seasons already, people are still really confused.

Even if you think there's some sort of weird conspiracy going on and Billy is actually Zac Efron from a different dimension (aka Stranger Things in real life), the evidence proves otherwise. For starters, Dacre and Zac were raised on completely different sides of the world.

Zac grew up in California with his dad, an electrical engineer and his mom, a secretary. He does have a brother named Dylan, but unless Dylan grew up in Australia, no he isn't Dacre. Even though Zac's family isn't really religious, they describe themselves as Jewish.

Dacre, on the other hand, was born in Perth, Western Australia to his Canadian mom Judith Barrett-Lennard and his New Zealander father Scott Montgomery-Harvey, who both worked in the film industry. Dacre does have one younger sister, but no brothers.

Zac's also been in the spotlight a lot longer than Dacre. Dacre's acting career started in 2010, while Zac has been acting since 2002. That's because Zac is also a little older than Dacre. Zac is 31 and Dacre's just 24.

Even though it would have been so cool if these two were actually related, to finally put this case to rest: they're not.
