Memorial Day is almost here, and there's a lot to do: eat, drink, swim, boat — you name it, someone in Austin is doing it.

There will likely be parties and events all around the city, so it can be tough to plan your weekend to maximize fun. Luckily, we did the research for you. Here are five events in Austin over Memorial Day weekend to add to your list:

May 23 to May 27: Austin Sketch Fest

The annual Austin Sketch Fest is back for its 15th year this year, and it's celebrating over Memorial Day weekend. The fest is geared toward bringing attendees "the best scripted comedy from Austin and the wilderness beyond."

Headliners include actor Chris Grace from shows "Superstore" and "This Is Us," as well as Joan & Raft, who have written for Netflix, HBO Max, Cartoon Network and Comedy Central. More than 20 other acts will also perform at the fest.

The event begins May 23 and runs through May 27 each day at the ColdTowne Theater, 1700 E. 2nd St. The all-fest badge costs $69. For more information on tickets, visit atxsketchfest.com.

May 23 to May 26: Hot Luck Food & Music Festival

The annual Hot Luck Festival returns this year to "honor the soul, sweat and DIY diversity of the food and music world" in Austin. The event, which was originally created by Aaron Franklin and James Moody, will host a spate of notable chefs and bands for attendees to interact with.

The event runs May 23-26 at various locations in Austin. Prices for tickets also vary, but one ticket for access to all the festival's events costs $595. For tickets and other information, visit hotluckfest.com.

May 24 to May 26: Dripping Springs Fair & Rodeo

The Dripping Springs Fair & Rodeo is taking place over Memorial Day weekend for anyone looking to venture outside Austin. It's being held at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center, 1042 Event Center Drive.

The rodeo features various events, such as steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway and tie down roping and more. It is scheduled to run from May 24 to May 26.

Tickets range from $10 to $15 and can be bought by visiting Eventbrite.

May 25: Asian Night Market

Closing out Asian American Pacific Islander heritage month, the Asian Night Market allows visitors to interact with more than 90 local food and arts and crafts vendors, as well as view several live music, painting and dance performances by a slew of entertainers.

The event was originally scheduled to run May 24-26, but it was consolidated to only May 25 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The market is being held at Distribution Hall, 1500 E. 4th St. in Austin.

Tickets cost $30 each for adults and can be bought online at ticketspice.com. Children 12 and under receive free entry when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

May 25: Memorial Day Weekend Party

The Tipsy Alchemist is hosting a Memorial Day weekend party at its Austin location, 70 Rainey St., on May 25 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will feature music, food trucks, hookah and more, including certain sections where bottle service will be available.

Tickets for the event cost anywhere from $0 to $300, depending on where you want to be. The event is only for those age 23 and older. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.
