David Beckham is always stripping down. (Oh come on, like you haven’t seen those underwear ads too.) But in his latest campaign for H&M’s Modern Essentials collection, he’s got the whole of Lisbon getting naked too. First he appears at a hotel, where the receptionist, doormen and even a Weimaraner are wearing his classic off-white sweatshirt. Then he reappears in a blue bomber jacket and white T-shirt, and so does everyone else on the street. (See where we’re going here?)
When Beckham finally returns back to his hotel for a shower, the town square is filled with frolicking naked types who are ditching their towels too. Point taken: not only can he command a soccer field, but a whole city of mini-me’s too!
It’s all in good fun for the 40-year-old footballer, who last season worked with Kevin Hart in a Odd Couple-type video. Despite his proclivity for nudity, we all know that Beckham is also quite the clothes horse, too. “I’m always looking for the sort of casual pieces that make you feel good as soon as you put them on,” he tells Yahoo Style. And even though his famous pop-star-turned-designer wife is no slouch in the style department either, he’s not prone to taking anyone’s advice when it comes to getting dressed up. “I don’t get told what to wear,” he says. “I wear what I feel comfortable in and my style is always made up of items I have personally selected.”
Check out the video below to see both men and women wearing his new Modern Essentials collection, a fact that Beckham thoroughly enjoys. “I love to see women wearing menswear, even if it is just worn casually,” he says.
