Does your hair always clog your bathtub drain? This brilliant hair catcher is an Amazon bestseller, and it’s about to change your life. The TubShroom has over 26,000 Amazon reviews to back it up.

I first bought this magical hair catcher in 2017. As someone with long hair, I’ve always had problems with strands clogging the drain while I showered. I’ve tried all types of hair catchers, wasted time and money with plumbers, and regrettably used Drano during desperate times. Overall, the TubShroom was by far the most effective solution,—plus, it’s cheap and easy on the eyes. I bought the TubShroom in white to match my tub, although it’s also available in fun shades like green, blue and orange.

The genius of the TubShroom lies in its brilliant design. Due to its cylindrical “mushroom” shape, you don’t actually see any of the hair, soap or residue buildup until you’re actually ready to clean it. The product is made of silicone — making it flexible and easy to fit in a variety of tub drains (TubShroom recommends drains 1.5-inch to 1.75-inch inches wide. The TubShroom is also covered in holes to allow water to easily pass through, and any hair (human or pet) that is caught is wrapped around the tube in one central place to easily wipe off and clean.

In order to keep your TubShroom lasting long, you do need to be diligent about cleaning the hair out. Every day is not necessary, but every few days is best practice to keep your TubShroom in the best shape possible. I also suggest cleaning it out when it’s dry not immediately after showering when it’s still wet (it’s quicker and lessens the ick factor too). If you want to go above and beyond, I recommend rinsing the TubShroom out with water when you remove the hair because with all the dirt and scum that passes through, it causes the TubShroom’s exterior to become extra sticky and might clog the TubShroom’s “pores” over time.

Since my first TubShroom purchase in 2017, I’ve replaced it only once in 2018. This wasn’t because it didn’t work anymore, but it just wasn’t as crisp white as it used to be. But according to TubShroom, you won’t need to replace it for at least 10 years.

Is the TubShroom a game-changer? Absolutely. Did it change my life? 100 percent. It’s available in six different colors. Keep scrolling to read why more than 26,000 Amazon reviewers love this revolutionary hair catcher.

Functional

One 5-star reviewer wrote: “Before using the Tubshroom, I used a flat hair catcher on my tub / shower drain and cleaning it was gross. This one really does the job nicely. When you lift it from the drain, the hair (absent gunk since only hair remains) is caught by the lip. Hence, you can easily remove hair with a tissue. Also since there is plenty of little drainage holes, it doesn’t get moldy compared to a flat hair catcher that covers the top of the drain. The material is soft and easily pliable, thus, fits drain and catches all hair. Well worth the cost compared to hiring a professional drain cleaner.”

Easy to clean

One 5-star reviewer wrote: “No seriously — this is amazing. I have long hair and recently had a baby. It’s a wonder I still have any hair based on the clumps I see falling out on a regular basis. This means the poor tub drain is getting clogged every time we turn around, and we’re spending ridiculous amounts of time with that spiky stick thing you shove down there and then pull out over and over. I figured if this even worked to catch half of my hair then it would be worth its salt. Holy moly. When they say it catches every hair they aren’t kidding. We clean it off about twice A WEEK! And when they say it’s easy to clean, they are right again. A swipe with toilet paper and the hair blob comes right off to be flushed down the toilet. I’ve already told so many people about this product because I love it so much. Fantastic!!!”
