Los Angeles-based designer Nina Takesh is known for her chic, modern aesthetic and Parisian-inspired flair. “I’ve always had a penchant for timeless design that stays true to historically accurate details and architecture. In my opinion, paying homage to those classic elements of design always lends itself to a result that looks very high-end,” she says.

Now, Takesh is bringing a bit of that modern romance to her brand-new collection with Ruggable. Takesh says she was drawn to this partnership because of Ruggable's high-quality, washable, fuss-free rugs that are offered at an accessible price point. “I believe everyone should have access to beauty in their lives. As a luxury designer with a wide audience, being able to offer my designs at an affordable price point is something I’m very excited about. The thought of people receiving my rugs and bringing joy and happiness to their homes truly warms my heart."

Takesh believes there’s a need in the design space for beautiful rugs that feel high-end, but are also affordable and low-maintenance. “Often, rugs with that [high-end] aesthetic are made of silk or materials that are cost-prohibitive, until now. With the Ruggable x Nina Takesh Collection, you get the best of both worlds. No one would ever know by looking at these rugs that they’re as durable or as affordable as they are, which was exactly what I wanted when designing this elevated collection,” the designer adds.

The machine-washable chenille rugs are available in eight rectangular sizes and 12 different designs. Takesh’s collection uses linear and geometric patterns in subtle colors to create an understated style that can be used in any room. She explains, “They are all very homogenous in nature, allowing them to be seamlessly displayed in multiple rooms of the house. For example, in my own kitchen, I have two runners from two different collections of mine which look fantastic together.”

Takesh says her Ruggable collection was inspired by Parisian architecture, cocktails with friends at the Hôtel de Crillon’s Bar Les Ambassadeurs, Michelin-starred Restaurant Apicius, and the Musée d'Orsay. “This collection of rugs is so special to me, it’s really the ultimate expression of my personality through design. It is, at its core, my love letter to Paris, the city that shaped me and my life in so many ways,” she says. “There are so many elements in this collection that are deeply personal to my story. From the geometric shapes found in the Lune rugs that remind me of my family’s home in the South of France designed by Jacques Couelle, all the way to the black and white paint splatter design of my very first pair of kitten heels. I really poured my heart and soul into this collection.”

Here are our three favorite picks from the Nina Takesh x Ruggable collection:

Nina Takesh Villette Sage Rug

We love that the geometric pattern references classic Art Deco motifs while the varying shades of green feel fresh. This clever contrast would add interest and balance to any room.

Nina Takesh Seine Camel & Ivory Rug

Takesh says this rug is her favorite from the collection, and we can see why. The Seine rug in Camel and Ivory is inspired by the river Seine in Paris, and the wavy lines reflect the calming motion of the water for a captivating focal point.

Nina Takesh Lune Slate Blue Rug

This dreamy slate blue and pearly gray rug was inspired by the night sky. The design is reminiscent of the various lunar phases, and the subtle contrast adds understated interest.
