Nina Dobrev's Feelings About Early Morning Workouts Are So Relatable

Celebrities, they're just like us. Nina Dobrev recently proved this when she said how she really felt about those people who exercise way too early.

"I prefer to work out in the mornings over the evening because I have more energy in the morning," she told Shape. "But not morning morning—I'm not talking about 5 or 6 a.m."

"Those people can go away and stop rubbing it in all of our faces," the Fam actress says with a laugh. "You guys need to go home and go back to sleep. You're making the rest of us look bad. If I work out in the morning, it'll be 9 or 10." (But if you're really into exercising before the crack of dawn, find out how these women do it at 4 a.m.)

Dobrev is all about balance when it comes to her workouts. She swears by dance cardio—especially BODYJAM dance workout, a new dance workout she developed alongside Reebok and Les Mills. "The reason I love it so much is because it's a workout without feeling like a workout. You're having fun without feeling like you're doing a chore," she says.

Dobrev isn't just a dance-cardio queen: She complements dance with volleyball, treadmill running, and strength training too. "I like strength training because with every session, you do something different and there's a real science behind it," she says. (Read more about how Nina Dobrev got hooked on strength training.) And for recovery days, she perfects her yoga poses.

While some people may relax for self-care, for Dobrev, it's all about sweating—whether in the form of a steam room, running on the treadmill, or dancing it out—and she tries to indulge at least once a day. (More inspo: Watch Jessica Biel Do Plyo Box Pistol Squats Like It's NBD)

"I make my workouts a priority," she says. "That's 90 percent of the battle. Everyone's incredibly busy; it's whether or not you have the stamina and determination to push past your own procrastination."

Remember that next time you're feeling too lazy or tired to go to the gym—just maybe not at 5 a.m.
