Nina Dobrev is known for starring in The Vampire Diaries, her wine brand with best friend Julianne Hough and her relationship with Olympian Shaun White.
During this year’s Winter Olympics in Beijing, Shaun announced his retirement from professional snowboarding. The 2021 Winter Games marked his fifth and final time he would compete for Team USA. Cheering him on from their shared home in Los Angeles, Nina couldn’t have been more proud of her beau. Most recently, the couple celebrated Shaun’s bittersweet career news with a retirement party.
On March 5, Nina posted a dozen photos on Instagram giving her followers a glimpse of Shaun’s special night. At the beginning of the series, Nina can be seen wearing a red wig inspired by her boyfriend’s signature hair while he posed for the camera. In the background, their friends also donned red wigs. “Celebrating the 🐐 and bringing back the 👩🏻🦰 one last time…#RetirementPartyAt35 😂 @shaunwhite,” she captioned the gallery.
After seeing the mix of silly and heartfelt snaps, Nina’s fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts about the monumental event. Since Nina and Shaun went public with their romance in 2020, the two haven’t been shy about gushing over each other. “Nina’s just been so supportive and so amazing through this whole process for me,” Shaun told People. “Through the pandemic, she was a lifesaver—she really made that time in my life special.”
