Nili Lotan is keen to tell you she designs for herself. And it rings true — in person she exudes the downtown nonchalance she crafts into her clothing. The recent addition of menswear hits the same chord, with both collections in conversation with one another. She built her business on the pant and it’s still her biggest category for both genders.
The look: A seasonal evolution of her take on a full wardrobe, with a few dressier moments.

Key pieces: For the girls, loose suiting, buttery soft leather trenchcoats, languid slipdresses that billow to the floor, monochromatic sequined skirts grounded with shirting. For the guys: crocheted polo, leather bomber, printed camp shirts and updates to her cargo pant.
Takeaway: Lotan doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but her customer doesn’t come to her for that. Instead, she gives them new chapters to a story she has been working on for a long time with updated staples that feel seasonless.
