Nikon D780 gets big Black Friday discount ahead of Amazon Prime Day Big Deals

It is still a while to wait until Black Friday, but the seasonal camera deals are starting to appear - and with the Amazon Prime Big Deals Days two-day sale coming next week, we are starting to see some great offers from Amazon (and its rivals).

The Nikon D780 has been slashed in price overnight by Amazon overnight - making it a fantastic deal for someone who wants a sensibly priced enthusiast Digital SLR.

The D780 was introduced in 2020 - and is one of Nikon's last DSLRs, but incorporates lots of tech from its modern mirrorless camera range.

Nikon D780 (body only) | was £1,999 | now £1484.23
Save £515
This DSLR's 24MP full-frame sensor offers impeccable image quality, and its performance can keep up with most of what a Nikon mirrorless camera can. You'll get Nikon's tried-and-tested 51-point phase detection AF system when using the optical viewfinder, but switch to live view and you've got the Z6's brilliant 273-point on-sensor AF system with eye detection. View Deal

The D780 took over from one of Nikon's longest-running success stories, the D750, and the newer DSLR's hybrid design incorporates the sensor, autofocus technology and performance power found in Nikon's mirrorless models, like the Z7 and the Z6, with an optical viewfinder and body of a traditional DSLR.

And despite being a DSLR, it's lighter and a bit more compact than older Nikon models. All in all, it's now one of the best DSLRs money can buy, and when you can get it for around £500 less than at other deals, this Amazon discount is well worth taking a closer look at.

While it's an enthusiast level DSLR, you can use it to start your photography journey and the camera will grow with you. It's an excellent long-term investment, particularly if you're on a budget.

As a beginner, though, you may need a lens to go along with the camera. In which case, Amazon is selling the D780 with the 24-120mm VR zoom for £2,224.05 - which again is the cheapest price we can find it in the UK at the moment (although not such a big discount as the body only deal).
