Nikki Says She Hopes She and John Can Reunite
After cancelling their May 5 wedding three weeks beforehand, Nikki Bella told Entertainment Tonight yesterday that she really hopes she and John Cena can get back together.
“John is such an amazing man. He really is the love of my life,” she said. “I truly hope one day that we can work it out and get back together. I think there is hope.”
Originally, when the two called off their wedding, sources told media outlets it was because they couldn't agree on whether they should have children or not. They had been dating for six years and it was a recurring issue on their reality shows Total Divas and Total Bellas. But yesterday, it seemed like John (who was always the one against having children) had a very abrupt change of heart.
He went on The Today Show and contradicted everything he's said before, saying he'd love to have kids with Nikki and he hopes they can have a family.
“The point is for anyone out there speculating on what’s going on, I love her," he told Kathie Lee and Hoda. "I want to be with her. I want to make her my wife. I want to be the father of her children. I just want us to work and that’s so just from here,”
Nikki was reportedly "shocked" at these comments, but she said she hopes she and John can figure out their future together. Right now she's taking time to focus on herself and "heal."
Now, because of the quick nature of their potential reconciliation, people are starting to accuse the couple of orchestrating the whole breakup as one big publicity stunt. A source told People that's definitely not the case.
“Cancelling the wedding was not a hoax or a publicity stunt,” the source said. “This hasn’t been a quick or cheap decision, and it was a real one.”
