Nikita Dragun's Efforts to Defend James Charles Might Have Backfired
The dust from the Tati Westbrook and James Charles drama hasn't settled yet, thanks to recently unearthed text messages from James' friend and fellow YouTuber Nikita Dragun.
To jog your memory, Tati Westbrook and James Charles' feud started over James promoting supplements from a competitor of Westbrook's Halo Beauty brand. Then, things took a turn for the worst when Westbrook claimed James sexually manipulated men and betrayed her trust, among other things. (You can read our full breakdown of the feud here.)
On Tuesday, Nikita Dragun came to James' rescue when she released a series of text messages between her and James, in the hopes of trying to prove James' innocence. In the messages, James asks for Nikita to help him secure security at Coachella because he was "in VIP and getting attacked."

Dragun tweeted, "heard a situation needed some clarification 👀 my friend was in an emergency and texted me in the moment... unfortunately since @dragunbeauty used all of our marketing budget on the 𝓯𝓪𝓷𝓽𝓪𝓼𝔂, i connected him with sugar bear. nothing shady."
Many of Dragun's fans believed she only added fuel to the flame since those text messages didn't exactly support James story. After all, James still reached out to Sugar Bear for help, knowing the brand was one of Halo's competitors...or did he? According to Tea Spills, a popular YouTube channel knowing for, well, "spilling tea," joined the conversation on Twitter by posting a message James allegedly sent to them in which he said that Sugar Bear reached out to him offering extra backstage passes.

Tea Spill followed up with another screenshot of a conversation with James where he explained that Sugar Bear requested an Instagram Story of its new vitamins and he agreed with "no thought, no emotion behind it."
Safe to say, fans aren't buying it and accused Nikita of fabricating the text messages:

This tweet actually makes things worse. It shows that he clearly doesn't care about his audience and promoted something he never tried before (and hated the brand actually) just so that he can have a good time at Coachella.
