Nikita Dragun is Celebrating Pride This Year By Teaching Her Followers About Confidence

Making a difference in the world doesn't necessarily mean you have to attend a protest or donate all your money (though, of course, those things help), it can be as simple as going to the store and choosing the right deodorant. That's what Nikita Dragun figured out when she partnered with the natural deodorant brand Each & Every. Not only do they refrain from dividing their products by gender (what's the difference between "boy scents" and "girl scents" anyway?), but they are making a difference by donating to various LGBTQ+ funds this month.

"I'm just trying to be a little more cautious, not only with products I use on my body, but also with brands that I show and push out to my followers too," Nikita told Seventeen. "I'm trying to be a good example."

Of course, good deodorant is important for Nikita as she heads out to protest in LA and celebrate Pride month. This year, Pride obviously looks a little different because of the coronavirus, but that doesn't mean we can't still celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Nikita has taken to Zoom in order to spread the love this Pride and on June 24th, she's teaching a class in confidence. I mean, who else better to teach the art of loving yourself than the always confident Nikita Dragun?

Of course, she hasn't always been the self-assured woman we see today. "When people look at me they believe I've been confident all my life when that really wasn't the case," Nikita admitted. She had to learn that self love is key and now that she's found that strength, she isn't going to let it go anytime soon. "I lived 18 years of my life trying to be something I wasn't so every single day that I live I might wear a crazy wig or say something or act out. I just live boldly."

Now, she's teaching others to do the same. "Accept yourself first and everyone else will follow," she encourages, while also emphasizing that it isn't necessary to compare yourself to others.

"We're not competing," she said. "There's no need to try to be better than anyone else. You just have to find your own little lane and be like, 'OK, they're in their lane driving and they're cute, but I'm in my lane. It's sparkly. It's a Lambo. It's driving real fast.' Everyone just has to do their own thing."
