Whether you’re a die-hard sneakerhead or just a casual streetwear shopper, chances are you’re familiar with Virgil Abloh and his creative genius.

Abloh, Lous Vuitton’s famed creative director and the genius behind the Off-White empire, teamed up with Nike to release a 352-page book that gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at their latest partnership.

In 2016, Abloh and Nike reimagined ten iconic pairs of sneakers. Now, five years later, the two have chronicled their design process, imagination and more in the Jan. 22-released book Icons “Something’s Off.”

The five-pound book from the now dynamic duo features “prototypes, original text messages from Abloh to Nike designers and treasures from the Nike archives,” as shared in a Nike press release.

Abloh has left his stamp on pop culture with his one-of-a-kind designs (you can spot an Off-White silhouette from a mile away thanks to its meticulous stitching and zip-tie details), and he perfectly articulates this passion in Icons.

“The foundation of my practice isn’t nearly the end result — it’s rigor and process of the logic,” he says. “The Icons book is, in a way, the only revealing lens to understand that the catalog of the 50-plus Nike shoes I have designed are in my mind ‘one shoe.’ One story.”

Though Abloh’s genius led to this project’s birth, he’s not the only mastermind features in Icons. Words from designers, historians and writers like Glenn Adamson, Troy Patterson, Hiroshi Fujiwara can be found throughout the book.

Icons “Something’s Off” is available starting today (Jan. 22, 2020) at Off-White and the Nike SNKRS app. From Feb. 5, you can cop the book at Canary Yellow and TASCHEN.com.
